Barrett Tillman is the author of "Whirlwind" and many other books on aviation history.

Having flown WWII aircraft, he brings an in-the-cockpit authority to the subject. He has published nearly 600 magazine articles around the world.

A frequent television commentator, he has appeared on The History Channel and National Geographic Channel documentaries. While still pursuing history, he is writing his eighth novel. He lives in Mesa, Arizona.
