Museum Information
- One of the largest collections of vintage military airplanes in the world – and they fly!
Hours of Operation:
- Open 7 days a week 9:00am – 5:00pm
- Closed Thanksgiving & Christmas Day.
Event and meeting space:
- Capacity to hold large events in the two hangars
- Meeting space that seats up to 50 people with AV equipment and drop down screen
- Kitchen use for caterers that includes double door refrigerator, convection oven, three compartment sink with two racks, two microwave ovens, two pan racks, two 42-cup coffee makers
- Hangar space used for events such as weddings, military ceremonies, political events, banquets, conventions, and reunions, to name just a few.
- Museum holds its own events, such as Speaker Series, and more to come
Museum Library
- Under construction for cataloguing, the library, holding rare books, newer books, magazines and reference material all dedicated to aircraft.
- Largest privately-owned collection of paintings from Henri Farre,
French impressionist. During World War I, he was the first artist to
portray aerial combat.
This collection was formerly exhibited at the Smithsonian museum.
Gift Shop
- Air Demonstration available (reasonably priced) for private events and air shows:
- Choice of aircraft
- Meet and greet with pilot
- Observation of preflight check list
- Take off in front of hangar and guests
Location
- Located at the Virginia Beach Airport – used solely by the museum, with a 1 mile grass field
- Located 3 ½ miles south of the Pungo stoplight, a scenic part of Virginia Beach, located in the middle of farm land
- Red checkered water tower, transported from Kentucky and built during World War II, guides you straight to the museum.

Uniquely situated in the southern part of Virginia Beach, the Military Aviation Museum
at the Virginia Beach Airport is perfect for any type of event, big or small.
Everything from weddings, reunions, banquets, conventions, and organization events,
to name just a few.You and your guests will enjoy one of the largest facilities in the area with plenty of space for parking and lots of room to roam around.
- Capacity to hold large events in the two hangars
- For a more compact carpeted area, the museum has space consisting of 2 floors between the hangars.
