September 2008 report on the rebuild of our DH89 Dragon Rapide.
The roofs fairing stringers and the belly stringers have all been fitted. The emergency exit hole with its laminated reinforcing ring has also been fitted to the roof above the main entry door. Minor detailing to the fuselage in the areas of corner fabric fairing strips, roof stiffening straps, plot seat base and the first coat of Everdure sealer to all remaining external surfaces. The ELT aerial ground plane and antenna has been fitted to the inside of the rear fuselage. Work has also started on the main cabin door frame.
The repairs to the top left wing have been completed with the leading edge skins replaced, the spar splice removed and repaired with new tip ribs. New trailing edge sections have also been fitted.
The old fuselage is back into the shop and we started removing the control system parts from off the floor in preparation for the inspection and painting of these pieces.
We have sourced original new old stock oil pressure gauges for the instrument panel along with a new set of exhaust stacks.
