Alan L. Wagner

M.D.

Alan Wagner was born in Nebraska and graduated from Omaha Central High School in 1974. He subsequently attended Northwestern University in Evanston, IL before graduating from Vanderbilt University Medical School in 1982. He trained in Ophthalmology at Eastern Virginia Graduate School of Medicine and completed a Fellowship in Retinal Disease and Oncology at Cornell University in New York. He has practiced continuously in Virginia Beach since 1987 and is Past-President of The Virginia Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Eastern Virginia Medical School Foundation, Board of Directors of WHRO, Virginia Beach Foundation, and Diabetes Institute Foundation.

Dr. Wagner has had a long interest in aviation. His father, grandfather and children are pilots. He founded WKA Inc., a Part 135Air Charter Operation and served on the Virginia Aviation Board from 2003 to 2011. He has over 5,000 hours flight time with Instrument and Multi-Engine Ratings. He has owned numerous aircraft, including a Cessna 402, Cessna 337 and his current Burt Rutan twin engine Defiant. He is an FAA Medical Examiner, and is enthusias tic about being involved with the Military Aviation Museum Board.
