The Military Aviation Museum is excited to announce the upcoming Girls in Aviation Day on November 2, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. This event is open to all girls and boys ages 4 to 18 and aims to inspire and educate the next generation of aviation professionals. The event is free for all youths, 18 and younger to attend, with exciting STEM-related activities, aircraft tours, flight simulations, and much more. Girls in Aviation Day is part of a global initiative led by Women in Aviation International (WAI) to promote opportunities for girls in the aviation industry. This year’s event will feature exhibitors from across the aviation field, including commercial airlines, STEM organizations, military professionals, and educational institutions. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in interactive STEM activities, speak with industry professionals, and learn about careers in aviation.

“We are thrilled to host Girls in Aviation Day,” said Alex Wray, Education Coordinator at the
Military Aviation Museum. “Our goal is to spark an interest in aviation and STEM fields while
giving young girls and boys the chance to learn directly from professionals who are shaping the future of aviation.”

Highlights of the event will include:

  • Hands-on STEM Activities: Participants can engage with exciting activities like coding
with robots, weather forecasting, aircraft mechanics demonstrations, and more.
    ● Aircraft Tours: Get up close with iconic aircraft and learn about their history and
    operation.
    ● Flight Simulators: Try your hand at flying with immersive flight simulation experiences.
    ● Career Exploration: Meet pilots, engineers, and other professionals working in various
    sectors of aviation.
    ● Craft Stations and Family Fun: Enjoy aviation-themed crafts and games for the whole
    family.

Free Girl Scout Patches will also be available for all Girl Scouts who attend and participate in at least six STEM activities (while supplies last). This event is rain or shine, and the museum will provide an indoor/outdoor experience for all visitors.
