Following on to May’s presentation addressing the famous Royal Air Force Dambusters, Museum Docent and Pilot Robert “Boom” Powell will describe the similarly named US Navy Squadron. VA-195 earned the nickname Dambusters after an attack on the Hwachon Dam during the Korean War. Powell’s presentation will detail the connection the Museum’s AD-4 Skyraider has with these Yankee Dambusters, and will explore the last operational use of an air launched torpedo against a surface target by the US Navy.
